I am an avid reader all year round, but for some reason, I just tend to make more time in the summer. Maybe it’s the lazy summer days with out a ton of structure,or the extra time spent hanging out at the pool while the kids scream and splash. I’m not sure, but I find I consume books like candy from June through August. I took the kids to the library this weekend to sign up for the summer reading program and signed myself up. They give away little prizes and some great local coupons too when you meet your goals.
What catches your attention more? The title or the cover? Lately, I’ve found when I go to the library, I read the title, if that sounds interesting then I look at the cover and if I’m still interested, then I read the inside flap. It’s a totally exact science (not). Sometimes I try to be daring and grab a book that sounds remotely interesting, but sometimes I get a dud. I normally know by about 50 pages in if I really want to read it or move on.
I have a few recommended books I’ve already finished below that I think you would enjoy (the pictures will take you right to the link in Amazon.) for some summer reading, but I would also love your suggestions in the comments below about what you’ve read or are reading that you would recommend. I am always looking for something new!
So what are your summer reads? What did you just love and couldn’t put down?
