I snapped a few pics of our bathroom remodeling progress for you. I apologize about the bad lighting! I’ll take better pictures when we are finished.
Since everything was out, it gave me the opportunity to reassess our space a bit. Previously, the old sink was a pedestal and I knew I wanted to add something with storage. My awesome sister-in-law found this buffet for me for $50. I knew it would be perfect.
I painted it with AS chalk paint. I think the color is called old gray, even though it had a slightly violet undertone. I actually haven’t decided if I am going to darken it or not, I kind of like it the way it is.
The open space is where we removed the door. A shelf for some nice, bright, white towels are going to go on there and guest toiletries.
Even though there is no sink, no trim, no shower enclosure or fixtures, and all we can really use is the toilet, I couldn’t help picking up this bat mat at Target, and adding some faux flowers.
Oh, and a towel. Ok, I know, I’m guilty of premature decorating.
I do love the detail on the legs. 🙂
I am going to order a small rectangle sink to go on top.I really liked this one from Home Depot. It’s the perfect width. Except I would like to do brass fixtures instead.
So funny. When we moved into our house 15 years ago, we ripped out old brass fixtures and replaced them with aged bronze… It all goes around again, doesn’t it?
I would love to do a marble top, but it’s not practical right now, so for now I’ll just seal the heck out of the top.
I did get a little marble in the shower edge and the pencil tiles.
I knew I wanted a white tile bathroom, but I didn’t want it to look like a medical ward. I found these matte white octagon tiles for the floor I just loved. I decided to then do penny tiles in the shower as a way to break up the surfaces, but it’s in the same color and sheen.I feel, The marble edges give it a really refined and finished look as well.
And I am just in love with those penny tiles. They are just so cute.
I also found these subway tiles, but they are slightly smaller so they come in a sheet instead of individuals. I went with the same gray grout throughout so everything flowed. It’s Delorean Gray.
I love these slightly smaller subway tiles framed by the marble pencil tiles. We added the floor tiles into the shampoo cubby to tie the floor and the shower together.
I just love how it turned out. It looks luxurious to me. It’s nicer than our main bathroom upstairs.
We are just taking our bathroom remodeling bit by bit as we can between the rest of everything else going on. I was just happy when we finally had two working toilets for 5 people again. It’s the little things that make me happy. 🙂
