Have coffee mugs will travel…

I was cleaning on top of the refrigerator the other day and realized I never showed you one of the “goodies” I brought back from Horton of Tipton’s.
It’s a metal bottle rack that is just perfect for my extra “company” coffee mugs. I had been looking for one for a while and it was so reasonable I had to treat myself.
It’s the perfect thing for above my fridge. It’s such a weird space. Do you have a hard time decorating above yours?
I’ve seen a lot of people in blogland do come creative things with them for display as well, but for now it’s perfect just doing it’s job.

  1. Ah yes, the top of the fridge. We have no cupboards there so I put an old plate rack there filled with bowls and stuff. I really like your mug (holder?) it looks old and antique – great scale and a touch of whimsy!

  2. I just love the bottle rack! Looks great up there! I use mine to store ribbons and scissors in my office. I feel luck to have a fridge that is recessed into the wall!!

  3. That is really cool, Horton’s is just down the street form me, well it’s about 25 min. north of where I live. I love everything in this shop. Are you going to the spring open house?

  4. A wonderful spot for a drying rack! It looks great in that space. And yes, I’m always at a loss as to what to place on the fridge…
    Have a great day

  5. I love your new little cup rack. As for me and decorating the top of my fridge….I use to. Now that we just purchased our new fridge I’m enjoying to clean crisp look so far. Give me some time though and I’m sure I will have it all gussied up for sure 🙂

  6. I love that! Thanks for the idea! I will be getting a new set of Corelle dishes soon, and I will need something to do with the new mugs since I will have too many for my cupboard.

  7. I don’t think I have ever cleaned that space let alone decorated it! A bit of spring fluffing in order – thanks for the reminder. Your looks gorgeous btw!

  8. I think you used the space on your frig well.It is such a great piece to display.Have a great day and keep warm there.Brrr ..I watch the weather channel and being since my son and friends live there in Dixon it is cold.Chickie

  9. Hi Jen, My husband bought me the same bottle rack for Christmas. I have my small collection of ironstone creamers hanging on mine. The top of the fridge is always a hard place to decorate but your bottle rack looks wonderful there.

  10. The top of the fridge is always a sore spot in my kitchen. I can never figure it out. I think the bottle rack looks perfect on yours. Now if only I had a bottle rack of my own! LOL

  11. Hi Jen!
I’m not sure if I ever posted about how much i LOVE your kitchen but I do…. including this little area above your fridge. I have looked at your kitchen photos many times… thx for the welcome back, too. 🙂

  12. I couldn’t remember who had mentioned Horton’s and I am glad you said something. I owe you a big thank you for letting all of us readers in on this gem. Although I live in Orange County, California, my aunt just moved to a town about 30 minutes from Horton’s. When you talked about it at Christmas I did a google maps dealy and then emailed her straight away. She visited that very week and it has become a frequent destination for her and my uncle. (She mentioned there is a great used book store nearby too!) So thank you from Indiana, via Southern California, via your comments section! I love the internet!

And I love that mug rack. I have been on the hunt, but I can’t find any that are reasonably priced. Love how it looks on your fridge. Brills.

  13. It would be fun to have a ‘top of the fridge’ blog party and have everyone send in pics of their currently- no pre styling alowed! You’ve done a great job and I love your new treaure.
    xo!

  14. Hi Jen, Your vintage piece holding the mugs is perfect for the top of the fridge. I am so glad that our fridge is built in, that is such a difficult place to decorate and if you need to get into those cupboards, everything has to be moved.
I love the turquoise jars up there, too.
    Hugs, Cindy

  15. Love that bottle rack, Jenn! And what a perfect place for it. I’ve seen more and more of those neat racks here in blogland. I wonder what they were originally used for? Anyway, the top of my frig is clear of anything. Since it’s such an awkward space, I just leave it uncluttered…..or maybe I’m just too lazy to decorate it….. lol!

  16. That is a great bottle rack….I keep seeing those around the blogs lately! I think yours is perfect on top the fridge! I have the most random things stacked on top of mine~ a basket full of (therefore hiding) odds and end tupperware containers, a pink wooden big, and a colander.

  18. My daughter and I went to Horton’s Thanksgiving weekend after reading about it in your blog. We had a great time and wanted to buy one, okay – two – of everything we saw. I only live about 20 minutes from Tipton – so I plan to be a frequent visitor – Hope to see you there sometime! Thanks!
