Over 20 kitchens with painted cabinets….

I know painted cabinets are a hot trend right now. It’s a great way to give old cabinets an inexpensive facelift with a whole new look! In our  unplanned kitchen renovation where we painted our kitchen cabinets.
We were so hesitant to do it, but now I am so happy we did it! It changed our whole kitchen!

Kitchens with Painted cabinets

Painting our kitchen cabinets wasn’t that hard either or expensive,it just  took time and patience.

Here’s a peek at our before and after:
I found this really, really old, super-gacky picture from over 12 years ago. What was I thinking? It’s almost painful to look at. It was so dark and the old, Oak-y,grainy cabinets absorbed every bit of light there was.
Tada…it’s so much brighter! And no boob light!

  1. I was so excited to see you in the magazine feature. You really deserve the kudos. Don’t know if I ever told you, but when I saw what you did, I just knew I HAD to take the leap and go for repainting mine, so thanks so much for the encouragement. xo Debra

  2. Hi Jennifer,

I really admire your kitchen redo! In fact, we are in the middle of painting our cabinets white…still in the prep stage though. Would love to do more to our kitchen, but that’s what we can afford for now – so looking at your transformation is such an inspiration! 🙂 Thanks again for sharing.

    XO’s,
    Jessie

  3. I love the look, especially the chandelier. Trying to link up an old post of my kitchen redo, but having problems making a few changes. Hope you have a good party.

  6. I love looking at everyone’s kitchens, they are so pretty! I love your’s Jennifer; beautiful! Your’s was actually an inspiration for mine when I did mine. I linked up #18 my kitchen makeover. It’s funny to see so many makeovers painted their cabinets white or cream; great minds think alike.

  7. Oh my gosh, what a great idea! I wish I had thought of this but no need, you took care of it for me. I am planning my kitchen redo now. You have saved me a TON of work looking for kitchens to be inspired by. Are you countertops butcher block? If so do you love them? I am seriously thinking of getting them just can’t make up my mind!

  8. LOVE your kitchen! I remember when I first saw the big reveal I was breathless! So vintage, so perfect! Love all the other rooms in your house too, your style is great!!! Thanks for hosting the link up party! It’s my very first one I’ve ever been a part of! Mine is kitchen #2.

  12. Oh, that’s beautiful — and inspiring, particularly since my kitchen is overdue for painting.

“Boob light” made me laugh. I have a friend who’s an electrician. Apparently, at least where I live, electricians call those things ‘nips’. I’m thinking you can guess why! 😀

  13. Please help me find the other 19 kitchens. I have not been able to find a link. Did I misunderstand the title? 20 kitchens with painted cabs?

  14. Your kitchen looks great. I just finished mine as well. 28 doors & 17 drawers later, it was quite the task but I am so glad I did it. It really brightened up the kitchen and it looks brand new again. I guess I am too late to add to the link to my blog.
