Mary Kay Make Up Looks

This post was sponsored by Mary Kay cosmetics.

One of my few guilty pleasures in life is Project Runway. You can bet on Thursday night, it’s don’t bother Mommy night–me and Heidi are hanging out. When Mary Kay® asked me to try out two of the looks featured on Project Runway by make up expert Luis Casco, I was super excited. Mary Kay® is the Official Beauty Sponsor of Project Runway® Season 13. And I love when they go to the make up studio and the designers tell them what looks they want for their runway show. Seriously, I do not miss an episode. It was so exciting to get a box full to play with from Mary Kay® makeup from them! I love make up. I think it’s the inner artist in me.I thought I would show you how I created the Mary Kay make up looks according to their cheat sheet. The first look is the Graphic Eye Look. I started with a clean face!

Then I applied The Mary Kay® Mineral eye color in Moonstone and Driftwood with the eye crease brush

After that I applied the Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Blue my Mind. Do you know how hard it is to apply eye products and not have your mouth open in pictures? Maybe that’s just my make up applying weirdness.

After that, I applied the Gel Eyeliner in Jet Black and the Ultimate Mascara in black, bronzing powder in light-medium and medium-dark to contour my cheeks and True dimensions Lipstick in Pink Cherie, with a coat of Nourishine Plus lip gloss in Au Naturel over the top. Again, it was funny to try to look natural putting lipstick on.

It’s a fun natural look with a twist.I liked the pop of blue at the edges of my eyes to brighten them. This would be a good daytime look. It’s a fun cat eye with a surprise!

My next look was the Emerald Smoke look. This one was fun.

First I put Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color in Meadow Grass. I’ve never used a cream color before so I was surprised how light it was and how smoothly it went on. Over the top of that I applied The Mineral Eye color in Emerald.

On the inner third, I added Mineral Eye Color in Lime. I loved the pop of color it gave!

Can you see the different greens on my lids? I think it looks pretty cool. I used their Eyeliner in Black at the top of my lids and to line underneath. I don’t really line under my eyes so It was new for me.

I really like how the green makes my blue eyes stand out. I would have never picked green, but I’ll use it now! I used the Lash Love Lengthening mascara in black.

I think it makes a pretty combination. I used the Mary Kay Cream Blush in Cranberry with a Liquid foundation brush. This was new for me too, but it gave a nice soft glow to my cheeks.

Finally, for the dramatic finale,I lined my lips with their Lip Liner in Cappucino and topped it off with True Dimensions Lipstick in Mystic Plum.

I liked the end result!

and it was much easier to do than I thought it would be. I wasn’t sure how the looks would turn out, but I like them a lot. It was kind of fun to try something new. I’ve always liked Mary Kay®, but I am so used to my old stand by’s of powdered make up, I don’t think I would have used the cream make up unless I had the chance like I did now, but I am glad I did because I really like it a lot, especially the blush.

  1. I don’t think I can keep my mouth closed while applying make-up. Reminds how my husband always opened his mouth like he was taking a bite too when he spoon fed our babies and grandbabies, try as he might he couldn’t keep his mouth closed…precious memories. I love Mary Kay products and so does my skin, their eye make-up remover and hand cream are also awesome!

  10. The Emerald Smoke would work for me. I have green eyes and they are my best feature, so I try to play them up dramatically whenever I can.
