Things you might not know about me before Haven and my blogiversary…

I am so excited to be at Haven! I wanted to share a few things about myself with you before this weekend gets rolling.
I am a natural blonde… Okay, natural on me when I was like 3 years old, but natural at one time.
See, it’s true!
 My hair color is actually a dirty dishwater blonde which sounds like the most attractive color in the universe. You never see that color on a dye box, do ya?
I am also growing out my hair. I’ve decided now that I am 41, it’s the make or break moment and I am going for boob-length. A girl’s gotta have goals, right?
One of the biggest remarks I get about how I look is people always say “You look taller on your blog, I thought you were taller in person.”
While I’m not circus freak-show short, I do come from a long line of people who can never reach the top shelf at the grocery store. I am 5’2. I’ve learned to swallow my pride and ask for “tall” help.
I will be wearing lots of heeled shoes this weekend so most people don’t have to stare at the top of my head, and I don’t have to crane my neck all weekend.
This month is My Blogiversary! 6 years! Holy cow. Can you believe it? from the first post on in 2007, I never thought I would still be here and I never thought much would come out of it. From the first time I finally was published in the local paper to over 20 publications, a booming creative business and speaking at Haven!!!!  I would have never dreamed I could have ended up here!
But I am ready for the next step now what ever that may be. I am looking forward to this weekend and enjoying a break before we roll into the school year.
Summer is my favorite season. Even though I love Spring and Fall in Chicago, I adore Summer! Bring.On.The. Heat. I grew up in a home where the air conditioning didn’t go on until it was over 90, so I can happily suffer in sweltering weather and now prefer it. I get cold really easy. I’m the girl wearing the sweater when it’s 75. I am ready for HOTlanta! Long, dyed hair and all!!!!

  2. Congrats on your blogoversary. I’ve been blogging for over 6 years too. Time goes by so fast doesn’t it? Oh and by the way, I’m probably the tall person you ask to help you with things on the top shelf. I’m 6 foot. LOL! But I don’t wear heels so you do have that advantage. *smile*

  4. Happy blogiversary! I’m from Minnesota so when it’s hot and summery I’m in my happy place too…obviously, that doesn’t last too long here. Have a great time and enjoy the heat 🙂

  5. Congrats for your almost six years of blogging, pretty girl! I like the four seasons, been from NY, but now I live here in Cuenca-Ecuador and the weather is like spring most of the time except for this time of year which is like a cold fall. You were and are so pretty dear Jenn and your hair is going to look nice long too…changes are great! I am also 5’2, but who cares, hubby chose me because I was petite. He had a previous girl friend who was Miss Ecuador, gorgeous and 5’10, which is what he didn’t like about her, lol…although he is 6’2! Diamands come in small packages!

  7. So fun to read of your success Jenn! And your hair is lovely – no matter if it is helped with dye or not! Have fun in Atlanta – I so wanted to go this year. And I’m with you on the heat! I get cold easy and if I get cold for too long at a time I get sick 🙁 I prefer summer too!
