Make an easy Embroidery Hoop Wreath

Even though there are different kinds of wreaths to put up all year, I really find myself thinking about making wreaths at the holidays. I am joining a group of friends today to share our DIY wreaths. I made an easy embroidery hoop wreath with faux florals.

For this project, you’ll need a 12 inch embroidery hoop, faux pine floral picks, faux lambs ear, floral wire, hot glue , pine cones and ribbon.

Start by separating the two parts of the hoop. You could actually make two wreaths this way if you wanted to. For this project, we are using the outer embroidery ring. If you’re not familiar, that’s the one with the little screw on top. The inner ring is the solid wood circle.

Wire the two faux pine sprigs together in the center, and then use the floral wire to attach to the top of the hoop. Use hot glue to secure the loose part of the sprig to follow around the hoop. I had to do this project flat for the camera, but to make it easier, I would probably hold it between my legs so my hands were free to do the wire.

Tuck bits of faux lambs ear into the pine sprigs and wire into place. You can add other faux florals, I really liked the pine-lamb’s ear combination.

Once the faux floral are put together , wrap ribbon around the top to hide any messy bits and glue to secure in place. Use another piece of ribbon about 8-12 inches long to double over and use as a loop to hand your wreath.

I added a vintage brass bell to mine. I love the tinkling sound it makes when the door slides opens. It makes me think every time an angel gets it’s wings!
