Kitchen Pendant Light Makeover

I wanted to share the  pendant light over my kitchen window with you. I couldn’t find anything I liked. I knew I wanted a pendant light, but some of them were over $100 I had an idea to change out the glass on our pendant light to make it look fresh and new and paint it. After the big kitchen makeover it just wasn’t in the budget to buy something so expensive.

A kitchen sink with a window above it, potted plants on the windowsill, a hanging light fixture, and assorted utensils and fruit on the wooden countertop create charming Cottagecore Home Tour vibes.

It just shows how easily a light fixture can be updated with a new shade or cover. This glass globe was really, really affordable. In fact, our local Habitat for Humanity store always has random glass globes like this too from time to time. It’s an easy way to upcycle an older chandelier or pendant light.

This kitchen pendant light makeover is so pretty with it’s glass globe and brass chain. It’s really almost the pendant light of my dreams. It’s amazing on how just swapping out the glass can make such a big difference! I took it down and gave it a coat of spray paint. Yep, that’s the same light. Thank goodness for the power of paint! It really made the entire light look brand new.
I love how farmhouse-y our kitchen looks with the pendant light and the herbs growing on the windowsill, I might get to my farmhouse dreams yet.

All it took was a coat of brass paint, a light spray of brown over the top to tone down the brass, a replacement globe from the hardware store, and a  cool bulb is from Anthropologie. The bulb from Anthro? $18. The entire light fixture makeover with the new globe? $16. Funny huh? It’s one of the cheapest thing in our entire kitchen. I loved this fixture, but eventually we upgraded it to this glass and brass lighting and I love it just as much.
