Easy Fourth of July Luminaries with Hardware Store Lighting Globes

I wanted to show you how to make patriotic and easy Easy Fourth of July Luminaries with Hardware Store Lighting Globes. It’s a really quick and easy project with just a little bit of paint and a battery operated candle! I just used hardware store lighting globes that are a few dollars a piece and can be repurposed for other things afterwards.

And when I saw quick and easy, I mean it! I found these great glass jar in the lighting aisle. They are actually globes for light fixtures, but you could use them for  lots of things like vases. You could even add wire  to hang them since they have a nice lip at the top. I left my jars clear, but these would also be really cute to paint the outside  in a fun patriotic color!
How to stencil stars on burlap
I cut a strip of burlap, just big enough to fit around the jar with about an inch extra for overlap on the ends to hot glue them together. I stenciled a little star on each one in red, white and blue cut out on some card stock. You can also find some fun star stencils here that are my own design.

After the paint dried, I broke out the hot glue gun and glued each strip to the jar and at the ends. You can also use another fabric as well or use glass paint to stencil the stars right onto the jars themselves.

I added a battery operated  candle to make them light and bright, and theat way I don’t have to watch them like a real candle. They they are ready for my 4th of July festivities! Fairy lights would also be really cute to add, almost like fireflies in a jar. For another fun 4th of July craft, try making this drink station to keep everyone cool in the heat! Or, you can make these fun towels with iron on letters.
