Sparrow and Blossom Look Book Vintage Handmade Collection 2012
For those of you that couldn’t see the Sparrow and Blossom look book I thought I would share the pictures here! I was so excited to pull this together for you, and I wanted to be able to share it page by page. It was really fun to create this, it was almost like creating a mini magazine.

Make sure you also look at The Vintage Tea Collection.
It was a joy adding the vintage element of creating the sparrow and blossom collection. With a strong lean towards having that vintage aesthetic mixed with nature and botanical imagery. The sparrow and blossom collection is something that is near and dear to my heart.

I had some wonderful models who were such a good sports, and they just really embodied the youthfulness and innocence of the entire collection. This focused on colors, on crochet, paper, and things that just feel good and bright and colorful and pretty.

Of course, no collection in spring is complete without some kind of birds or other floral imagery. I wanted to really bring in the element of what spring means.

I created a mixing match party scene with all of the vintage items, it was actually really fun to make this yarn wrapped birthday cake as a prop for the styling. It went really well with all of the vintage glasses and dishware.

I’m a paper person so creating beautiful journals with something that was key to what I really wanted to do. There’s something about sitting down with pen and paper that you can’t duplicate any other way. These journals are vintage recovered notebooks with bird collage images from original artwork.

All of the tea towels are also handmade from my own artwork and vintage images. I used a image transfer method so that they are machine washable and will be very durable to make it through lots and lots of dishwashing! They’re also pretty to just hang in the kitchen.

I was also able to source lots of vintage items like this absolutely gorgeous embroidered purse. I wanted to keep it for myself because of all the needle work and all of the embroidery but I just didn’t need another purse. It’s gorgeous and I cannot wait for it to go to somebody who was going to absolutely love it.

I also had the joy of creating original artwork. This is artwork that is botanical inspired with an acrylic base and then over layered with oil pastels.

.

I also added handmade frames based on my own artwork that are collage with paper paints and stencils. There’s nothing like a beautiful picture frame to display your most precious photos.

I hope you love the Sparrow and Blossom Collection as much as I do and as much as I enjoyed creating it. Botanical imagery is something that I love so much and I’m so happy. I got to share it with you.
