Restful guest retreat makeover…. One room, three different ways, Day one!!!

June 25, 2013 By Jennifer

Welcome to One Room, Three different ways!
I am so excited to have you join us as we play~! The rules these amazing group of bloggers had to follow was they had to 1.take a room in their home and transform it into 3 distinct spaces over 3 days.
2.They had to mostly “shop”their homes.
3.They could spend up to a total $100 for all three rooms if they wanted to, but were not required to.
Fun tween bedroom
I chose to turn my Middle’s pre-tween room with a restful guest retreat makeover.
I tried to go more minimalist on this space and keep it truly restful.
I started by turning her bed the other way and then grabbing a bed quilt from the other room.
I love the way the sun hits her room around 2 in the afternoon, it gives it a beautiful and golden glow.
I hung my friend, Tara’s, sign and pulled a small side table from my living room to stand in as a nightstand, I also added a kitchen chair with a few guest towels.
One of my purchases was an $18 bird pillow from Homegoods. I draped a table runner for my kitchen table as an accent across the foot of the bed to break up the stripes and add a pop of color.
restful guest retreat
The bedside lamp has been sitting in my garage waiting for our flooded family room to get started and finished,
I had a few peonies left in the yard and put them in a sweet vintage mason jar, I grabbed the vintage clock from downstairs.
The vintage bird print was from my upstairs hallway.
I think it’s a perfect restful retreat! I would love to keep it like that all of the time!
With a vintage suitcase for an accent, I would stay in there if I could!

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my re-made room for day one! Please visit these other awesome ladies who are also making over their spaces! Wait until you see the amazing things they’ve done in their home just by shopping their own spaces!
Don’t forget you can join in on Friday with your own restyled room!

I’m a great house guest – what time should I arrive? Although I’m sure your daughter wouldn’t be too happy to have me curled up on the floor next to her!!

The bedroom looks amazing – so relaxing. Love the runner at the foot of the bed – genius!

So happy to be part of this challenge with you – it really made me look at my living room in a whole new light (and I love the final result)!

What a super fun idea to change your rooms using what you have. Too often we get stuck, design it once and leave it that way. Can’t wait to see them all.

Although I can certainly see why Option 3 was what your daughter kept, I have to say this one is my favorite! I love all of the little details!
