O beautiful Christmas tree…

December 7, 2013 By Jennifer

Hubby and I bought our first faux Christmas tree about 10 years ago. I love real trees, I grew up with a real tree,I love the smell. the texture, everything.

But (sad face), I am allergic to pine and he hates needles, we also had crawling babies that would put anything in their mouths, so a faux tree was a no-brainer for us.I do still sneak some real greenery in and sniffle for a few weeks.

I thought we were so fancy when we bought our tree, because they had these new pre-lit ones and we were so excited. No more draping lights on branches!

Fast forward to last year, our pre-lit now seemed like a fire hazard, with it’s FIFTEEN plugs that all plugged into each other, and kind of just hung there. It was time for a less dangerous upgrade.

We now have a beautiful tree from Balsam Hill. It’s the Colorado Mountain Spruce.

It’s a beautiful 6.5 feet and just gorgeous and the eclectic runs down the middle,NO extra plugs!

It was very easy to set up in 3 pieces, and it even had some fun, fancy gloves to wear while doing it.

The needles look very real, and hold the heavier ornaments well.

jen tree 3The lights are so pretty and the fun part is it comes with a remote and I can also turn the lights from white to multi-color!

The kids love the color lights, I switch it to the clear when they aren’t home. 🙂

jen tree 2Our tree has everything on it, from vintage Shiny-Brite ornaments to the fun things the kids made in school!

We are so happy with the tree and it fits perfect in our cozy space!

Balsam Hill has a great way to find your real tree:  Shop by Level of Realism, Height, Light type, Shape and Collection to find your perfect tree.

They also have a great giveaway, so check back Sunday!

I know Jeanne had her amazing, artsy tree yesterday, and

Stop over and see Heather’s beautiful tree next!

Beautiful Tree! But I am more fascinated by the sign that says Bickerdike on it. I just spent two years on the Bickerdyke Ranch in Montana and then after much searching found out I am long distant cousin to “Mother Bickerdyke”. (Google this) Can you tell me where you got it?

I found it at a thrift store in chicago? I guess it was an old bench back.

Your tree is beautiful! We have a real tree, but finally this year we are seriously considering getting a faux tree next year.

I have a Balsam Hill tree too – don’t remember which one, but it sets up fast & easy with the three pieces and it’s a good quality realistic-looking tree. Very stable too. Mine is unlit and I’d love a pre-lit one. Do you see cords on the branches of the pre-lit tree? I get so OCD about trying to hide all the cords!! Because real trees outside don’t have cords! 🙂 Well they don’t have lights either, but … anyway …
