DIY weathered wood craft garland

Hey everyone! It’s Angela from Number Fifty-Three and I am so excited to be back sharing another craft with you all.
A DIY weathered wood craft garland.
I loved working with these wood shapes I found at the craft store. They even came pre-punched which made creating this garland fast and easy.Weathered wood craftHere’s what you need to create your own weathered wood garland: pre-punched wood shapes, stain (I used gray), clean rags, stencil, stencil brush, white paint, sandpaper, scissors, twine.A stack of weathered wood craft, flag-shaped cutouts with a beige finish lies neatly arranged, each sporting two small holes, next to a solitary piece displayed against a dark grey backdrop.
Simply, wipe the stain onto the front and back of each piece of wood and remove the excess using the clean rags.

Once dry, pick a few to stencil. I placed my stencils randomly and used very little paint. Remember, I was going for a weathered and worn look here.

Once the paint is dry, lightly sand each wood piece (this further adds to the aged feel).

Lastly, string the wood pieces onto the twine. I did two separate garlands and them tied them both together at the ends.

I just love how this simple and inexpensive craft can transition from spring into the warmer summer months.
