I have a lot of clients and designers who ask me for very specific things on furniture. One of my favorite things to paint are toile images. I don’t know why, I think it’s because there is something so calm and restful about toile. It’ so classic as well.
And I think because I like painting botanicals and nature, it fits in with my style.
I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces with you.
We took this tree off of the little girl’s bedding. It’s still one of my favorite rooms.
I think it looks so calm.
I loved doing this dresser set. They were the clients grandmother’s pieces. They have such a great shape to them, but she wanted to use them in her daughter’s room, so she wanted them lightened up and decorated.
here is the before:
and I love the top, though it was a pain to do all of the diamonds; it turned out great!
And this way just fun. We took the fabric and decoupaged it onto the drawers and top.
It took about 10 coats of polyacrylic varnish to get the finish, but I think it was worth it!
