Blue Painted Side Table

I picked up this little  table for $25 at a yard sale last year. It’s been kind of bopping around my house, while I tried to find right space for it… I really liked the shape but I thought the dark wood was kind of heavy. I have been in this red, gold, green thing for  a while and am ready to lighten my decor  a little. I think it is seeing all of the wonderful cottage looks on your blogs has influenced me.

I had  a little bit of BM Stratton Blue left from the hutch makeover, so why not? I love how it looks painted on this little half-moon side table. It really makes it look so much better and brightens it up. I kept the handle for now because I like how it looked on the front. It felt kind of fancy.

A bit of glazing with Tudor Brown paint and it was much better. I also moved it to a spot near my front door. It’s a great spot to drop our keys and things when we come in the door. I love how the glazing looks on it. You can read more about adding brown glaze to furniture here.

I don’t know why I hadn’t thought about it before. It fits that location perfectly. I also did a little thrifting over the weekend and found this really cute, I can’t think of what it’s called,a terrarium? It was $6! I can’t wait to style it and add it to my spring decor with a cute bird.
