My most recent Tribune Local Article was on how to make this cute pillows this holiday season! It was a fun article to write and share some quick and easy holiday decorating ideas. I love starting easy with a pillow tied with a ribbon and also playing with a bit of fresh greenery!

More Easy Holiday Decor Ideas

This first idea featured is so easy! Just tie a pretty holiday ribbon and embellished it with a “shatter-proof” (plastic ornament.)

If you want to customize a plain pillow even more, use  acrylics paint mixed with fabric medium and a little glittery fabric paint and paint a fun holiday design.

How to use extra green to make a tiny tea cup topiary

One idea I really love uses fresh pine clippings. I adore the scent in the winter! While I  few extra holiday greens laying around from our tree, you could also use fresh clippings from the yard.  It’s so  cute to make a little topiary in a vintage tea cup.I just added a little floral foam. Once the foam is wet, you can just start sticking in the greens. How much you add depends on how many you have. You can also use a few flowers from the florist as well.

I had a little moss left over form another project that I put on the top to hide the foam. This would also be cute with green moss or even tinsel or a bit of sparkly garland to cover up the moss.

Wouldn’t that be  a fun bit of decor at each place setting or clustered on a tabletop? Or these would make such a sweet hostess gift or as a little arrangement in the guest bathroom.
