Castle Theme Wall Mural

Back when murals were waaaaaay cool for baby’s baby nursery’s , I did an “homage” to my husband’s English roots by.. at 8 1/2 months pregnant. BTW..  painting a castle theme wall mural on the soon-to -be-first baby’s walls. It was actually the mural that launched my creative career. It took me 13 hours. It’s the room that started my mural business. My husband reminded me that I painted it the weekend he went for  a bachelor party in Vegas. Hm. Funny how he remembers that….I have to admit, It’s a little bittersweet to see it go.
A wooden crib and wardrobe are placed against a wall painted with a night sky mural featuring a crescent moon, stars, and subtle castle details, creating a magical baby nursery with castle theme.

Can you see how old theses photo’s are? I had to scan them from actual prints. I am so glad I took them! I loved being able to create not only the look of night sky that the baby could sleep under, but a stone castle wall.
A wall painted to look like stone in a baby nursery with castle theme, featuring a faux window that reveals a landscape with grass, a tree, and a distant castle beneath a cloudy sky.

As each child came, I added a little bit more to the scenery. As you can see from the top image and this one, sometime is the middle, I added a blooming tree on the night sky wall. We also changed out the furniture and had to get a different crib for the last child.

A baby nursery with a castle theme features a wooden crib, dresser, rocking chair, and a mural of a night sky, tree, and stone wall adorning the walls and ceiling.
By number 3 it was a full on paint-a-palooza. When the crib went, the room became an office/storage place as all 3 kiddos shared a bedroom.

Now, that first “baby” is ready to grow up and get her own room. She’s headed back into the same room she started from and it’ s times to refresh the walls and paint over the castle theme wall mural.
A person with a red bandana uses a paint roller to apply light paint to the ceiling of a baby nursery with a castle theme, near a window and beside a wall decorated with a mural.
I admit, I am a little sad to see it go, but it’s time. So the “hawt” painter put on his bandana for me today and started painting. He’s such a good guy; I might have to give him  a big kiss. It’s a good thing I’m married to him. 🙂 You can see how the room makeover turned out here.
