Vintage-inspired tablescape and party ideas…

July 8, 2013 By Jennifer

I wanted to share some vintage-inspired party ideas with you today!
Things that are easy for entertaining, but make everything a little bit special.
Summe rparty table setting ideasJust adding a pretty table cloth to an outdoor table can make it pretty.
I am not a fussy person, but I do love my vintage china. We actually use it everyday and since I never pay more than a dollar or two at Goodwill, if It breaks I’m not too upset. When I have guests over, I pull it all out and mix and match my patterns.
I also have some old stained vintage tablecloths I cut apart and use for napkins. That way even if I can’t use the whole thing, I can still enjoy them. And again, if they get stained, replacing them is no big deal.
I also say pull out all of your serving platters, even if they don’t match.Use what you got!
and I love putting out lots of flowers in old pitchers and jars. Flowers make everything look pretty.

For outdoor parties, I throw a few table cloths on some plastic tables and pull out an  old garden cart. I have some vintage enamel tubs that are perfect for keeping drinks cold with a little ice.

mason jars and flowers always make things pretty.

and a grown-up only mix your own drink station is always a hit! 😉

I found by using a vintage sheet around a smaller table and tying a ribbon around it keeps the wind from blowing it away. Again, if it gets stained, not biggie.
When I went to visit Jeanne a few years ago, she had an  amazing summer party with some brilliant ideas!
little tea light votives hanging from trees.
borrowed mismatched chairs and tables all went together.
a galvanized tub and mason jars for some yummy punch.
and a sweet word flash card with some scattered blooms to get everything started!
