Restful guest room makeover from shopping your home

This is  a repost from June of 2013 when a bunch of talented bloggers took the time to change up some rooms in their homes three different ways, but the rule was they had to shop their home first…
It was really fun and I loved to see all of the creative changes! It’s a great way to see how switching up a room can make a huge difference with budget decorating and staging your home for sale.

Welcome to One Room, Three different ways!
Event poster with text: "One guest room, three ways. 7 bloggers = 21 decorating possibilities! June 25th-27th. Linky party June 28th." Background features a soft, decorative design.
I am so excited to have you join us as we play~! The rules these amazing group of bloggers had to follow was they had to 1. take a room in their home and transform it into 3 distinct spaces over 3 days.
2. They had to mostly “shop”their homes.
3.They could spend up to a total $100 for all three rooms if they wanted to, but were not required to.
Fun tween bedroom
I chose to turn my Middle’s pre-tween room with a restful guest room makeover.
I tried to go more minimalist on this space and keep it truly restful.
A cozy guest room makeover features a single bed adorned with a floral pillow and taupe blanket. A small table hosts a lamp, clock, and flowers, while light mint-green walls showcase a framed sign and artwork, creating an inviting retreat for visitors.
I started by turning her bed the other way and then grabbing a bed quilt from the other room.
I love the way the sun hits her room around 2 in the afternoon, it gives it a beautiful and golden glow.
The guest room makeover features a cozy bedroom with a bed, a nightstand adorned with a lamp and flowers, an alarm clock, and stacked suitcases. A wooden chair draped in towels sits nearby. A heartfelt sign on the wall declares, "You have my whole heart for my whole life.
I hung my friend, Tara’s, sign and pulled a small side table from my living room to stand in as a nightstand, I also added a kitchen chair with a few guest towels.
A neatly made bed with a striped beige blanket and a decorative pillow featuring a bird design completes the guest room makeover. A small wooden nightstand with a clock and flowers is on the right, while wall art is partially visible.
One of my purchases was an $18 bird pillow from Homegoods. I draped a table runner for my kitchen table as an accent across the foot of the bed to break up the stripes and add a pop of color.
restful guest retreat
The bedside lamp has been sitting in my garage waiting for our flooded family room to get started and finished,
A round wooden table sits in the newly transformed guest room, adorned with a vintage clock showing 10:10 and a Mason jar filled with pink peonies. A hint of a lamp base peeks through on the right, adding charm to the cozy oasis.
I had a few peonies left in the yard and put them in a sweet vintage mason jar, I grabbed the vintage clock from downstairs.
A charming guest room makeover features a beige striped bedspread, a pillow adorned with a bird design, and a framed bird illustration on the wall, all complemented by soft curtains hanging gracefully by the window.
The vintage bird print was from my upstairs hallway.
A beautifully transformed guest room features a cozy bed, side table, lamp, clock, and vase of flowers. Above it all, a sign reads, "You have my whole heart for my whole life," adding the perfect touch to this inviting makeover.
I think it’s a perfect restful retreat! I would love to keep it like that all of the time!
A small guest room makeover includes a single bed with a beige throw, a side table adorned with a lamp, vibrant flowers, and books. A wall sign sweetly declares, "YOU HAVE MY WHOLE HEART FOR MY WHOLE LIFE," adding warmth and charm to the cozy space.
With a vintage suitcase for an accent, I would stay in there if I could!
