Bedroom update with modern bohemian bedding

I have a little bedroom update to share with you. Painting the walls is on our Fall project list, so that has to wait, but I think I am going to paint the nightstands soon. I was thinking about a nice, dark gray. Then when I go lighter with the walls they will really stand out.

I received this bedding from the JCPenney Eva Longoria Home™ collection to try out. The collection has a nice bohemian feel inspired by “Moroccan lattice, the deep blue Mediterranean Sea, the serene lavender fields in Spain and ornate Moorish tiles.”

 

I liked the pattern on the bedding. It has what I could call a modified Ikat pattern with a spring feel. I love how it has a nice pop of color in it with the lavenders and purples, but also a bit of gray (my fav) so that it kinds of goes with everything that’s currently trending.

 

It added some welcome color to the space.

The set came with a comforter, pillow sham covers and a bed skirt. I added some pillows I already had.

I also changed out my art above the side tables as well. It’s funny how a new bedspread can make all of the difference.

 

I like the mix of metals and pattern.

The lamps on my nightstand have been through many changes. This is when I gave our bedroom and the lamps the first mini-update in 2013

 

I think dark gray nightstands would be perfect. Even though I really like the distressed feel they have I am starting to lean toward more modern, eclectic style. That’s why this bedding was a welcome update. I remember watching her on Desperate Housewives and just eating her character up. I think she has a great sense of style and I love that she’s petite like me. 🙂
