Awesome eco-friendly outdoor furniture from milk jugs…

Have I mentioned how much I hate the cold? Funny, considering I live in Chicago. One of my favorite things to do once the weather has stretched into the upper 60’s is hang out on my deck and read.  And since  I am an organic tree-hugger, so how could I not be excited about Eco-friendly outdoor furniture made from recycled milk jugs by POLYWOOD? Just in time for Earth Day! It takes 500 milk jugs to make one piece of furniture. That’s a lot of awesome recycling!

Chairs made from recycled milk containersI was so excited to get the slate gray  Nautical wheeled chaise lounge with navy cushions. They had 6 frame colors to choose from  and a whole bunch of fabric choices as well.

I found some cute pillows to use as an accent.

Recycled plactic chairsThey only took  about 45 minutes to put the two chairs together, with the help of Oldest.

I also like that they are super-sturdy, but easy to move around the deck with the wheels.

The cushions are super thick and comfortable. And I’ve already spent 2 days in the beautiful weather hanging out, reading and enjoying them!

And I love that like old wood furniture, they don’t stay wet from the rain.

The small side table is a perfect fit between the two chairs and perfect for some lemonade, or something a little stronger as the night goes on. 🙂

Polywood chairs loungerI know once my Wisteria grows in, it will be the perfect lounging spot.

Polywood chairsMy kids have also been hanging out enjoying them too. I can’t wait to spend the summer in them!

  1. Hi Jennifer –
I hope it warms up soon for you so you can get to enjoy your new furniture every day. Your set and the way you set it up on your deck looks dreamy. My metal framed chaises are so uncomfortable. These look so comfy – afternoon nap after reading a book comfy…enjoy
