Garden Decor Display Ideas
Denise’s Adornments is a beautiful shop in downtown Geneva. I always find the cutest things there. She had an outdoor sale of merchandise and home decor a few years ago. Denise has some amazing display skills and here are a few peeks at some of her garden decor display ideas that I knew I am going to file away to use later. Let’s see how we can take some inspiration and steal a few of these display ideas. I thought it was perfect time to revisit this now that spring is almost here.

Stack objects together of different textures
I love how she has set up this metal garden set and arranged the flower pots in a controlled but tumbled around way, intermixed with the tea cups and saucers. It has such a pretty and rustic look at the same time with the textures of the clay pots and the porcelain dishware together.

Stay with one pop of color to make a display cohesive
This vignette with the botanical dragonfly print and the rustic goods is so pretty. There are just enough pops of blue from it being too neutral and bland. It has a nice colorstory.

Stay with a similar theme like “birds” “botanical” “nature” when creating a display
On top of this dark grey blue painted dresser, It feels springy and very bird like with the robin’s blue eggs, and the blue pillow intermixed with the cream garden objects.

Create contrast with color
On the black bookshelf, there is a nice contrast of black and white. The clock and the black objects against the white background make it pop and look cohesive.

On this dark grey dresser, more cream and white objects stand out against the dark background in this display.

Create a feeling in your display such a feminine, romantic, rustic, industrial, modern etc.
For a different look. the white dresser takes on a more feminine feel with the hat on a stand and the crystal lamps. It feels like its for a ladies bedroom.

Bring together and idea using items that suggest that idea. This is set up outside and on a dresser, yet with the brown transferware and faux cabbage, this reads very kitchen-y.
And the cream painted dresser below with the old drawers brings in a pretty and springy sage green mixed in with brown. It has a very rustic French garden feel to me. I love the layering in front of the dresser on the bench.

Use ordinary things in an unexpected way for display, like tucking things in dresser drawer
And I love that the green story carries on to this dresser as well next to it. And how clever it is that the bunny canvas is tucked into a dresser drawer for display.

Don’t you just love how she puts things together? I love these different display ideas and how pretty and effective they are.

Oh I would love to go! I actually got an email the other day about this sale from her. Too much baseball going on this week/weekend to go. Rats!! But I do love her Geneva store!!
Look at all those goodies! I see tons of things I would be wanting, Jen!
So many beautiful things but I think Bartlett is too far for this city girl … I start to get the bends when I venture past Arlington Heights …
