New kitchen paint color….
I can’t believe it’s been just over 3 years since our kitchen renovation!Time has gone so fast. When we first painted it, I had fallen in love with Benjamin Moore’s Bennington Grey.
Well, 3 years, 3 kids and lots of big things made the walls look a bit dinged up. I just craved something a little bit lighter too.
I had a hard time finding a paint color I really loved and after many paint samples I decided to do my own custom mix. Sometimes it’s just easier to mix your own. I think one day need my own interior paint line. I always want colors they don’t make.
I ended up with a mixture of 75% Coastal Fog and 25% Tapestry beige. It’s a very pretty warm grey with a very subtle green undertone.
My cabinets and woodwork are painted in a warm white called Linen White so they needed a grey with a bit of warmth. I am thinking about repainting them a cooler white, but I can’t summon the courage or the energy yet. 🙂
I think the warmth will pop more when if repaint the wood work and go a bit cooler with the white paint.
Please ignore the kitchen island I am in the middle of stripping it and as you can tell, I’ve only gotten about half way.
Why completely finish one project when I can start another one right in the middle of it? That would make waaay too much sense.
I also picked up a few flowers from Trader’s Joe’s to brighten the space a bit. I love the bit of color they bring.
I am also finally finishing up painting the lower level and hopefully the flooring will go in in the next few weeks. It would be great to be able to use it!!!

The new paint color makes the whole kitchen look serene. I was wondering though, what color is on your hutch?
HI Mel,It’s antique jade by BM with a brown stain over the top.

Your kitchen is lovely, beautiful custom color on your walls. I have a dark kitchen and I am dreaming…
procrastinating….about painting my cupboards too. 🙂
You go girl!! Your project list sounds a lot like mine these days.
Your kitchen is beautiful, Jenn, and the color you mixed is so pretty!

The Linen White and Bennington Grey are so rich looking together, it’s really a shame to mess with that.
I know, but I was ready for a change. 🙂
Your kitchen is one of my favorites. I hung my silver tray over my stove like you did last year. When someone asks me about it I always tell them you inspired me. 🙂
