Decorating an End Table with Beads
If you want a fun way to dress up your furniture, try decorating an end table with beads! It can really add a lot of sparkle and fun to a plain piece of furniture in an out of the box and bohemian way. It’s really easy to dress up something plain or that you’ve added some hand-painting to (just keep out of reach of small children and pets!).
For instance, this two-tier end table was kind of boring. I painted it with a copper pattern on top of flowers, but it felt like it needed a little bit more. I found this pretty trim in the fabric aisle with clear crystal beads.
This fun round end table had a really damaged top on it. I decoupaged fabric on the top to fix it, and then to disguise, the edges of where the fabric met the wood, I glued on a really pretty cream-colored bullion trim. I also cut small pieces of the fabric out and decoupage them on the base of the table to embellish it. It makes it a really pretty accent and really gives it a more high and maximalist look.
And the sweet little table with a flower pedal shaped top, I added some really fun, hand, painting, and dots on the front of the drawers and base of the table. The best part was adding a little bit of sparkly, sequin trim, and a zigzag pattern along the edge of the table top. It really adds a little bit of glitz and fun. Because this is a piece for probably a kids room I wanted to make sure it really stayed on so besides gluing, I also stapled it in strategic areas in place so it couldn’t be pulled off.
And on this chair. I wanted to add a little something to cover up the staples on the base of the chair cushion. I added this cute little pom-pom fringe that match the flower material on the upholstered seat. It had such a fun touch of whimsy, and just really makes it more than just a plain old chair seat. I feel like a cheer like this doesn’t have to be just for some kind of kitchen set, it can be a standalone chair in the living room, is extra seating, or a suite desk chair.
