Updating the Small Bathroom
I wanted to share the progress on the second bathroom with you on a budget with just paint.
Updating the bathroom has been an adventure since the beginning.
This is what I first saw when I saw the bathroom and knew it needed a big change.
The first thing we did was paint the bedroom a pretty netural color by Sherwin-Williams called Natural Choice.
Then we painted over the stripes. It took A LOT of paint.
We then painted the vanity and changed out the hardware.
I knew the dated tile had to go! Luckily the top and faucet were in great shape, and the lighting needed the shades changed out.
The old tiled was pulled out and was re-tiled with left over subway tile from the main bathroom.
I added a mirror from Homegoods and a new light fixture. I also had this pretty curved hand towel bar from Moen.
Don’t you love the light fixture?Luckily it just needed a shade change.
The bubble glass shade were just as much from Home Depot at $6 a piece, but I think they make it look amazing.
I just did the little rug on the newly painted floor. I love how it’s shaping up!

Wow, awesome love the transformation, and the little details like the mirror and the rug
Wow this looks so nice, and I really like the mirror. Beautiful job, and beautiful blog!

Love the bubble glass shades and the VANITY! I’m thrilled to see that “ugly” vanities can be beautiful…because I’ve got one at the farm house that needs MAJOR help! Well done!
Love the transformation! What color did you paint the vanity? And what is Restore? Is it a local store?
What a transformation. Luv the mirror and the light fixture.
Cute little painted rug. 🙂
Looks great already Jennifer! Don’t know what still needs work on the vanity part!
Looks great – I just went back to re-read your paint job on the vanity – I love those handles from Home Depot. And wow, I would’ve taken the deposit from the prior tenants for those wonky stripes alone! Love the light fixture and new tile you put in too.
What color paint is on the vanity? LOVE it!
Looking great!
Oh, the mirror! Definitely my favorite!
Love that light fixture! The bathroom looks great!
