Bus stop vintage sign….
I have a new vintage piece for my dining area.
This is the piece I used to have up there, it’s the center support from an old dining room table. I love it, but I wanted something a little more interesting.
A few weeks ago, I found this sign in a resale store and I knew I had to have it! So I replaced it with the new piece.
It’s an old bus bench seat from Chicago! I think it is the coolest thing! I gave it a good cleaning and a couple of coats of polyurethane (incase there was lead paint on it) and attached some hangers on the back. Viola!
I looked the name up on-line and couldn’t find if the business was still there, it’s a great piece of Chicago history.
According to Penny from At home in English Valley, It’s an address from pre-1909 and it was a local family. How awesome to actually have a vintage sign from over 100 years ago!
