Living Room Interior Restyling

I had a re-designer come to my house and move everything around! it was fun. I left for about 4 hours and when I came back, I had  a whole new house! It was so exciting. I think one of the hardest things about styling is that you look at your stuff every single day. It’s nice to have a fresh pair of eyes on your things  and  a new way to use them! I don’t have too many  before pictures, but I have lots of afters! So here’s a look at my living room before.

A red oval coffee table sits on a patterned rug between a green armchair and a light sofa in a living room with a floral sideboard in the background.

I had the coffee table in the middle and my hand-painted dresser on the very end of the living room.

A painted dresser with floral patterns stands against a wall, topped with framed photos, a lamp, and greenery; a shelf and framed items are above it, with chairs on either side.

It’s certainly been a show piece. I never know what to do with that end of the room.

A dresser topped with books, a lamp, candles, a wreath, a vase of flowers, and ornaments sits beneath a wall mirror and decorative leaf wall art.

I’ve had it styled quite a few different ways.  I am excited to show the after with you now!

A living room with a cream-colored sofa, framed art on the wall, a red coffee table, two armchairs, and table lamps on either side of the sofa.

I love how everything just looks so pulled together! She loved the couch to where the painted dresser was at. I had these pictures of the ladies I picked up from Homegoods a while a go and no where to put them. I love how they are  on the wall over the couch with some smaller art I made myself above them. I also love how she “shopped my home” to make things I already had look fresh and new.

A red wooden chair with a white cushion sits in a room with yellow walls. Two framed floral prints are above it, and a dark dresser with decor is on the right.

These framed floral pictures are come of my favorite thrift store finds. I just adore how happy and colorful they are. I love the red pop of the chair too! It goes with the unexpected red theory that every room needs a pop of red (and a touch of black for grounding.).

Two framed pictures—a botanical print and a butterfly illustration—hang on a light yellow wall above a wooden bench beside a window with curtains.

I also love how welcoming my entry way now feels with the bench! It’s the perfect place to take our shoes off at.

A wooden dresser with a mirror above it, decorated with a potted plant, lamp, candle, and a plate with the number 5. The room has yellow walls and wooden floors.

The large painted dresser was swapped with this smaller dresser from another room. It really opens up the entire living area.

A beige sofa with decorative pillows sits against a yellow wall with framed art; a red coffee table is in front, surrounded by various chairs and a window letting in sunlight.

It was like a makeover show! They had me leave and then come back to see the reveal.  It’s now making me think I need to lighten the walls a bit with paint!

This post was many years ago! If you want to see what it looks like here, see my current living room.
