Nightstand Makeover with Paint

I quickly grabbed my camera halfway through priming. I was doing a nightstand makeover with paint and I wanted to share with you how painting the furniture piece gives it such a big makeover! I am painting it to sell at the Nada Farm sale in a few weeks. I know that the new owner is going to love it! It has that perfect french flair!

I also found this wonderful chair and bergere side table while thrifting. It makes the perfect companion piece. How cute would these two painted pieces of furniture be in a guest room together? I love how using paint can unify two different furniture pieces for a new look. Check out how we made chairs match here by spraying them all the same color. I love how that can be such a cost effective way to decorate. I’ve found chairs for as little as $10 each!

It’s hard to tell, but the chair is light grey and matches the grey around the table drawer edges. I love the carved wood detail in back on the chair. if you’re interested in painting furniture and aren’t sure which sealer to use, check out this post on how to seal painted furniture,  and what the best sealer is to use.

This table has the best handles too. I would love to keep it for myself, but I can’t keep everything! 😉 I cleaned them up and put them back in place on the nightstand makeover with paint. The painted nightstand looks so lovely updated and I love the two-tone look! on the drawers with the darker brass handles. I gave it an extra coat of polyurethane. When painting furniture for high use, I really prefer that over a paste wax which has to be reapplied a lot!

  1. Both are beautiful! I have a similar table and just love it. I’m sure someone will be very happy to have those in their house!

  2. Ooh both pieces are beautiful. So this may be a dumb question and I’m sure you post about it but where do you sell your stuff? Do you have a booth?

  3. I too have a hard time stopping to take photos of before, because I am so excited to get the project done. Looks beautiful I love the choice in color. Great Job! ~lulu
