Split level home living 2016
Hello to everyone coming over from My Sweet Savannah as a part of the Blogger stylin’ home tours! Welcome to my little split level home tour! If you’ve missed any of the tour, you can start from the beginning at The White Buffalo Styling Co.
Come on in! We have a typical split level home, though in some areas it’s called a tri-level where the first floor has the kitchen, dining area, living room, the second floors has our bedrooms and the sub-level is our family room and laundry area with a bathroom.
I have this vintage dresser that holds all of the stuff like hats, gloves and sunglasses all year round. It’s also a great place to stash the weirdo junk the kids tend to wander in with (rocks, odd small toys, etc.). It’s also the land of lost hair ties. In an all girl house, that’s an important drawer.
I recently swapped out some furniture and added this faux mantel in my living room. Right now I am calling the style Romantic boho.
Our Peonies just bloomed so it gave me the best excuse to just fill the mantel with them!
They’ve lasted quite a while so far, and I am going to enjoy them as long as I can!
I just love adding fresh flowers to my decor, they add so much color.
I found the cream tassel pillows at Homegoods, and the fun zig-zag pillow at Target. I love using pillows to change my look. It’s such an easy thing. A few years ago, my living room looked like this. It’s actually had many, many new looks.
I love to mix up our dining area a well. Lately, I’ve been in love with vintage oil paintings and have been adding them all over my house.I loved grouping these. The table runner is Target and the vase is Anthropologie. I would call my style a bit boho for sure. I love mixing styles and eras in my home.
Our kitchen has also been though many changes as well.
I love using real furniture in the kitchen. I recently moved my Grandma’s buffet into the kitchen and love it. I am trying to decided if I am going to paint it or not. I know the wood purists are yelling a big,fat “NO” right now, but the top is damaged and so are the feet. But don’t worry, I hear you. 🙂 It needs a new finish either way.
I love how much counter space it give us. We have a little coffee bar set up with my vintage rack with mugs on it, and I found some really great vintage oil paintings with some pretty awesome colors in them.
Right now this is a temporary island. I have one I am building, but it’s taken me longer than I thought. This is actually a desk I found at Goodwill and we added rolling wheels to it to make it more versatile.
I did mix up a little lavender lemonade for you if you’re thirsty. 🙂
I love the light that comes in our kitchen. We installed tubular skylights when we did the roof last year and I am in love with them. It always makes the kitchen a really bright place to be.
The towel is from Anthro and so is the cute, concrete planter the Basil is in.
I hope you loved my little split level home tour! I have a few room makeovers coming soon, such as my bedroom and our downstairs bathroom where we just added a wood accent wall.
Make sure you stop next at Circa ‘34 and see her amazing home!
i love all of your floral art and that mantle is a show stopper!
What an inviting home. I love your grandmother’s buffet. May I suggest your have a piece of stone, marble or granite, cut to fit the top and address the feet with stain. You would save the piece and add counter for hot pots or chopping at the same time.
Absolutely loving the changes you’ve made, Jen! The pink from the flowers looks amazing in your home!

I love all of the art! And I cast a vote to leave grandmother’s buffet as is…it is gorgeous and an amazing contrast in the white kitchen. 🙂 🙂 Beautiful home.
Loving your grandmother’s buffet in your kitchen! Beautiful and functional. Great tour of your lovely home
I love all of your peonies and the sentimental pieces throughout your home! Every inch oozes with charm!
Love your new mantel and the other changes in your home, Jen! You’ve been busy!
