Away in a manger holiday cookies
Hi everyone! After coming off a whirl-wind week of amazing holiday tours, I get to share with you a little bit of my kitchen and a recipe for our farmhouse holiday series. Instead of a full recipe, I thought I would show you how you can make some easy Away in a manger holiday cookies.
The best part is, almost everything is pre-made, so it’s a matter of assembly!
I know you’ve seen most of my kitchen from the housewalk this week and the hot cocoa bar post.
But, I have these really cute cookies to share with you! They are fun for the kids to do too! My kids love adding the sprinkles!
You just need cookies for a base, I used sugar cookies. White frosting, coconut or white decorator’s sugar for snow, colored sugar and sprinkles, and melted white chocolate.
The “manger” are three pretzels places in a triangle, covered in white chocolate and sprinkled in gold edible sprinkles.
The animals are Animal crackers, covered in frosting and dipped in sprinkles!
I picked out camels, horses, something that looked like a donkey and polar bears. Now, while I am pretty sure they didn’t have polar bears by the manger, I thought they were too cute to not use.
Put frosting on your animal crackers and dip in edible sugar sprinkles for your holiday cookies.
Then spread your frosting thickly on the cookies and cover with coconut, or plain decorators sugar for sparkling snow.
Then place all of your animals in the frosting to hold in place!
I put mine on a bed of shredded coconut. It s just one of those fun no-stress assembly things that the kids have fun taking a part and eating. I mean who doesn’t love a mountain of frosting and sugar?! I know I do!
Thanks so much for joining us on the farmhouse holiday tour so far!
