Make A Cool DIY Metal Tray Table

I love  having things in my home that can serve double duty. This giant, awesome metal tub immediately caught my eye. It was super sturdy and could be used for lots of different purposes like how to make a cool metal tray table.

I was so excited to get it! It’s amazing! I knew I was going to use it for parties as a serving surface, but in the mean time I really wanted to put it to good use. That’s when I decided to pair it with a metal table base I already had. It completely filled the entire surface and made it so interesting! I loved that I could put a fairly large display in it including a lamp. I thought it went well with the framed quote art above it.

It became the perfect DIY metal table! In fact we had a few people over the weekend I put it together, and they told me if I ever wanted to get rid of it to give it to them. I told them they can go buy their own this one is mine for sure! I can’t wait to also pull this out for some parties!

A green candle in a textured holder rests on a stack of old books, with a glass object nearby, all elegantly displayed on a DIY metal table atop a wooden tray.

It’s such a sturdy and heavy piece that it works perfectly! I added a book stack, and styled it with a few pretty candle coontainers and a gorgeous crystal cluster.

And it has a beautiful patina. I love the little bit of red color showing through the black iron look on the top.

A DIY metal table hosts a round tray that cradles a lamp with a textured glass base and a green, patterned glass candle holder.

And I love how it adds just the right touch of rustic. And when I get tired of it as a table, I can use it as a tray again, or even a wall hanging. I know I’ll enjoy swapping out the accessories too, though I always love styling with a good book stack!

  4. Oooooh! What a cool shop! I love going to auctions, and living in Iowa, this truly looks like the items up for sale– on a good day, that is. Totally authentic-looking. LOVE your tray. Also love the “iron chandelier with wood beads” (never seen one of those at auction!), the “arrow cast iron bookends” and the “shaving mirror.” I could seriously go on & on…

  5. The hanging wall baskets! I’ve been searching for something like these, and they are perfect! I wish the frog bottle opener were available!!

  6. I would buy a set of the wire baskets or a tiered wire basket. LOVED looking around! I got a ton of inspiration for my home and made quite a wish list too!!!

  16. Just to let you know, when I clicked on the “pin it” for an entry, it would bring me to Pinterest but no image would appear. So I decided to click on the Pinterest button that is located under the blog post and used a different image to pin. Hope that’s okay.

  17. Great! And my next payday is only a week away.

We just remodeled the kitchen and dining room in black and white with jadeite and red accents. The “theme” is 1930s-’40s chicken coop so I’m think either the green three-tier tray or the “Farm Fresh” plaque.

On the other hand, the master bedroom and bathroom are Old West so maybe the vintage horseshoes or the antique paperweights.

  18. I would either put the gift card towards one of the clocks (so cute) or give the gift card to my sister in-law for Christmas.

  19. I can’t seem to get their site to load but I would love to get something for my new screened porch.
