Easy Early Fall Mantel Decorating Idea
Hi everyone! I am so excited to share my mantel makeover reveal from an earlier project, and share an Easy Early Fall Mantel Decorating Idea with you! I’m joining some blog friends in sharing our fall mantels! I know it’s hard when it’s not quite cold outside to get in the fall mood. It’s not really time to bring out the full on plaid yet, and Halloween is waaaay too far off to even think about. I always find a few simple nature-based ideas are a great way to bring in that fall feeling.

I decided to reuse my leaf art from last year on my mantel, and add a few pumpkins and greenery. If you love this leaf art or are looking for some pumpkin pillows, you can find pillow and canvas versions here.
Our grocery store just got the 79 cent mini-pumpkins, so I grabbed a few for my decor. I wanted to keep the mantel simple and natural.
On the left, I cut some oak tree branches from our trees, and placed a few cute pumpkins. I love how the stained wood piece adds such warmth.
On the right, I had snipped a little bit off of our Japanese Maple Tree and put it in a vintage bottle. I just love the leaves!
Early Fall Decorating Ideas can be as simple as a few clipped branches in a vase, and wildflowers from the yard.
On the floor, next to the couch, I put a clipped maple tree seedling volunteer in a large vase.
I have to tell you a funny story about the coffee table decor. I thought it would be so pretty to add a variety of orange and yellow flowers from my yard.
I clipped some Goldenrod we have growing wild on the side of the house, and some Sedum. Then I thought, you know what would make a cool design idea? Wild, rangy looking Marigolds. You know what turns out to not make such a cool design idea? Wild, rangy looking Marigolds. The minute I put them in the vase to take a picture, this is what I heard…
“OH MAH GAH…WHAT IS THAT SMELL???!!!!!” I had people covering their noses with their shirts, and crying out as if they had been pepper-sprayed. It was like a skunk entered the room. So, after the photos, they made a quick exit and were rapidly replaced with scentless zinnias.
It turns out the zinnias are just as pretty, and not as stinky.
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a peek my easy early fall living room decor! Make sure to visit the other bloggers and see their

Love your fall mantel! Funny about the marigolds. I plant them around my veggie garden to keep the bugs and wildlife away.
