Decorating with a Found Vintage Green Toolbox
I can’t tell you how many years this toolbox sat in our garage until I looked up one day and actually noticed it. I never noticed how it was painted the loveliest shade of vintage green, and was quirky and charming at the same time. I knew it was going to be perfect for decorating with.
the toolbox was a series of drawers that was from my husband’s childhood home. He said it was there as long as he could remember, and he took it with him when he finally moved out.
I cleaned it up and noticed what a great green color it was . The top drawers are zinc and I keep some of my flower seeds, and seam binding in there. The top was perfect for displaying some gorgeous vintage books, an antique bottle with a few sprigs of fern clippings and a vintage clock.
I love how the deep green plays so well with the bright green of the fern fronds. I placed the red books behind it to really make it pop. I was having way too much fun decorating with the found vintage green toolbox!
The top of the wood tool cabinet was the perfect place to display all of my old and vintage books.
I thought it looked cute with all of my vintage books on it and I loved the contrast. The books and darker colors are getting me in the mood for fall decorating.
I added a few more pieces like this metal bird on top of more books, and another fun vintage clock I had on hand. They all seemed to go so well together to create a vignette! Sometimes you never know what treasures you have just laying around!

This is a beautiful piece!
My Dad had an old tool box that my brother now has…wonder if he’d let me “borrow” it for some fall decorating around here!
It looks just wonderful, especially with the books! I just love the look of old. I too have sometimes run across things that are “hidden” in my home. That’s the best bargain yet!
Great blog, I’ll be back!

Got to buy a couple things as they were unloading but did not get a chance to run down there today.
Hope the weather held out for them!
