Hand-stamped Eggs for Easter
The last day! What a week! I think there was some amazing springsperation! For my final project in the 6 days of Spring, I wanted to share a project that would be great for spring or Easter. How to make hand-stamped eggs!
To make hand-stamped eggs, you’ll need a few supplies:
Paper mache eggs
White paint (either craft or acrylic paint)
Black Ink pad
Rubber stamps
Craft varnish
I gathered out my white paint, stamps and ink and started by painting the eggs white all over. Pastels would also be pretty on these eggs too.
After painting the eggs ,let them dry completely. Once they are dry you are ready to start stamping which is the fun part!
I inked up my stamp and carefully got to work. I found there is a technique to stamping on a not-so-flat- surface; it involves gently rocking the stamp around the surface with out letting it slide. I did have to re-paint a time or two until I had the technique down.
Then I kind of rolled them across the surface of one of my big text stamps to get the background texture.
They aren’t perfect, but I love how they look grouped together. To make them last longer, add a coat of varnish over the top.
These can also be used year round by changing out the stamps and colors of the eggs.
I bought the stamps a few years ago from Cavallini papers and co., Inc., and I use them all of the time. You can click here to learn how to make “Firework” Easter eggs! I hope you loved all of the projects this week! Make sure you see all of these great projects below!!!
See you Monday!
