Make the Easiest No-Sew Curtains with Curtain Clips
I hope you enjoyed part one and part two my home tours last week! I wanted to share with you my bedroom no-sew curtains. This is such an easy DIY that let’s you hang them right on the curtain rod and decorate and it’s a curtain hack that you can even use to turn tablecloths into a curtain panel no pins or sewing machine needed!
I like to make my own curtain panels because I have a problem sometimes finding drapery where the pattern has exactly the colors I like that match my room. And, sometimes I also cringe at the idea of having to drag my sewing machine out for one project. That’s where these little curtain rings with curtain clips come in. You can also use drop cloths to create curtains to match your home decor.
Supplies: You’ll need just a few supplies like a bonding agent like an adhesive such as heat n bond, hemming tape or fabric glue, fabric scissors, a hot iron and curtain clips.
You can clip any piece of fabric to them and it make changing them out a breeze. You just want to make sure when you buy them they are the right size, and are going to slide easily on your existing rods.To make floor length panels, you need to just decided on the length and get the appropriate yardage. For the width, it depends on the width of your window, but a general rule is you want 1/3 more fabric than the size you need so your drape isn’t tight or flat when you pull it closed. Here’s where a little math comes in(my arch nemesis), but it’s not as hard as it seems. If your window half is 36 inches, you want an extra 18 inches per panel for a total of 54 inches. Most fabric widths are either 45 inches or 54 inches (Some decorators fabrics are wider, but more expensive!).
Buy the 54 inch width and as much length as you need for each panel. Iron your fabric and make sure all of your wrinkles are removed. For bonding, use hot glue ,fabric glue or use fusible webbing hemming tape for the top and bottom edge. Measure all of the way across with a tape measure to get an even hem. I leave my sides as the selvedge edge so there’s no work there and no one even notices.
And add your ring clips all along the top edge of your curtain panel and hang! Once they are up you can use a steamer if you have it to remove any other wrinkles.
Didn’t I say it was an easy way to make your own DIY curtains with no-sew curtains with curtain clips?
Super easy and saved for when I need this in my own home! 🙂

Lovely just what I needed to see…thanks for the share!
Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Where did you find those clip hangers?
It would be easier, IMO, to use a metric ruler to measure the curtains. Easier to divide in your head centimeters than inches and parts of inches.
If Americans were not so resistant to change, we could join the rest of the world and do things the easier way. LOL
Thanks for the post. Thanks again if you can/will help me find those hangers. I live in the boondocks and our county has a W-M and not much else. These would be worth a trip to the city.
Hi MJ. The link in my post actually takes you right to Amazon if you are interested in buying them from there. Otherwise Target has them.
