Fun Printable Paper Bell Christmas Garland with Tassels
I have a fun holiday garland for you today! I made a DIY paper bell Christmas garland with tassels and I wanted to share it with you so you could also make one for your home. I’ve been listening to a lot of Christmas music. The song came on, I heard the bells on Christmas day, and I thought it would be fun to paint some vintage style bells and make a garland to add to your holiday decorations. They are painted in gouache and watercolor pencil and I wanted to give them a pretty modern vintage flair and be able to use into the new year.

I used a hole punch to make a place in the top to hang each bell from, and then a spot in the bottom to add a tassel onto. I had some fun gold and cream yarn that adds a nice bit of sparkle, but they would also be pretty with ribbon or twine.
Luckily for you, the painting partis done! You can print them right out on your printer and cut them out with scissors. Just right mouse click to save (for personal use only.). These should be sized to fill an 8 x 11 paper sheet, just make sure to have them oriented the right way on the paper. Depending on your printer, you may want to saturate the color a little more if they print a little light. If you copy the file you can also send it to your local printer to print on card stock for you.
I just did a 6-foot long braid for the garland part and made tassels to hand on the ringer part of the bell. I found these printed better on a stiffer paper such as light card stock. I have a yarn tassel tutorial in my book if you are looking for one. 🙂 You can also match the yarn to the bell to add a pop of color or make tissue paper tassels. This would be so cute strung across your mantel or for holiday party decorations.
You can also make a tissue paper tassel garland or doily tassels for this project.
They are also re-sized to make a sheet to also make gift tags. These would also be cute ornaments for your Christmas tree or on a wreath by your front door! There is a tutorial linked below where you can make garlands with snowflakes made with vintage doilies.

Tying these together, punch a hole in the top and use a bit of ribbon, twine or yarn to create a loop. Then tie those strips to the main garland piece. Make the length of string longer for over a faux fireplace mantel or staircase banisters so there is enough to work with when hanging. And of course, always keep out of reach of kids of pets and way from heat sources or open flame.
Just print and cut right a long the edges to make your printable paper bell Christmas garland with tassels! to create more dimensional bells, print two of the same image, and cut out at he same time a little past the image so they have the same edge. Hot glue back to back leaving a small opening. Stuff with some pillow stuffing and then glue the hole shut. These would give them a slightly puffy appearance. They’d be so cute over a doorway!
