I have a fun holiday garland for you today! I made a paper bell garland with tassels and I wanted to share it with you so you could also make one for your home.
I’ve been doing a lot of painting lately and listening to Christmas music. The song came on, I heard the bells on Christmas day, and I thought it would be fun to paint some bells and make a garland. I painted them in gouache and water color pencil and I wanted to give them a pretty modern vintage feel, and be able to use into the new year.
After I painted them, I used a hole punch to make a place in the top to hang each one, an then a spot in the bottom to add a tassel onto. I had some fun gold and cream yarn that adds a nice bit of sparkle.
Luckily for you, the painting is done! You can print them right out on your printer. Just right mouse click to save, for personal use only. These should be sized to fill an 8 x 11 paper sheet, just make sure to have them oriented the right way on the paper. Depending on your printer, you may want to saturate the color a little more if they print a little light.
I just did a 6-foot long braid for the garland part and made tassels to hand on the ringer part of the bell. I found these printed better on a stiffer paper such as light card stock.
I have a tassel tutorial in my book
if you are looking for one. 🙂 You can also match the yarn to the bell for even more color.
I am working on re-sizing them for you to make a sheet to also make gift tags. I hope to have them for you tomorrow. These would also be cute ornaments!
Just print and cut right a long the edges to make your printable paper bells with tassels!
