Spring Home Decorating Refresh with Flowers
Hi everyone! I am joining some of my favorite blog friends today to share some spring updates around my house! I wanted to share how I did a spring home decorating refresh with flowers in my living room, and dining room. It’s amazing how by just adding some blooms, everything seems to wake up with a bit of color. And, I threw out the two-week old tulips that were languishing in my living room vase just for you, and bought some fresh, happy flowers in!
I brought in fresh eucalyptus (my fave!), and bunches of pretty, yellow flowers from the grocery store.
I actually really love how the pop of yellow looks! I also love the contrast of the different white vases. I’ve just kind of collected them over time.
I’ve been obsessed with vintage kantha blankets recently, and have them all over my house. The fabric is so beautiful! I have this one in a basket from Ikea.
They are generally two-sided, so I love being able to flip the blanket over for a different look.
The book shelf has the abstract painting I painted, and vintage books.
I love to keep my favorite reads on hand, and am using them as an impromptu side table at the moment. You can find some of those books here.
I have to admit. For once,I have no clue what these yellow flowers are, and I normally know what most flowers are. They smell like some kind of chrysanthemum, so if I had to name them, I would call them a pin cushion chrysanthemum…and I’m not even going to Google it to see if I’m even close. The best part of my mom being a florist, and one of my blog readers, is that I don’t have to know. And, you all know she’s going to make sure she tells me later what they are after she reads this, as she shakes her head in shame, right ( I would totally put a laugh/crying face emoji right here if I could.) ?
In our dining area, I just added some Forsythia stems and called it a day. I know that seems like some really lazy decorating, but I love how it looked just the way it was.Sometimes simpler is better.
And finally, on the kitchen sink edge, I put the rest of the yellow flowers in one of my favorite vases.
I love having flowers on my sill because it’s such a pretty view, and really brightens the kitchen. Now, that I work a lot more at the shop, I love having fresh flowers around the house even more, it makes me happy!
Thank you all for taking my mini-tour of my spring home decorating refresh with flowers!!! Make sure you visit the other bloggers homes below, and how they’ve added spring into their homes!
