The Pumpkin and Kilim Fall Pillow and Home Decor Collection
When do you start decorating for fall? Is it the minute school starts again, or is it when the weather gets colder and the world inside feels a little cozier? In late June, I started thinking about what kind of fall design palette I wanted to create. I knew I wanted to add the coziness of fall, with a touch of boho flair, and that’s how The Pumpkin and Kilim Collection came into being. I was excited to design pumpkin and kilim fall pillows I knew wanted to put my own home.
I wanted to paint some things that really embodied “Fall”. Pumpkins are one of the first things I think of when fall comes to mind and I really love to paint is pumpkins. I have now idea why, it’s just one of my “wierdnessess.” Fall also brings to mind things like harvest, wheat, leaves, and the most important thing: Gratitude.
Playing with those types of fall motifs and then adding fun patterns such as kilim and boho- style patterns really made it exciting for me to build this collection. I used a lot of rust, and black and white and then threw in some pastels and abstracts for fun.
You can see a little promo video that I put together showcasing some of the designs.
The pillows are all designed so they can mix and match with each other. I love mixing pattern and color when I stage a room or pull together a space for client. Pillows for me are kind of like the earrings of a room. They just complete the look.
I hope you’ll stop over and check out all that The Pumpkin and Kilim Fall Pillow Collection has to offer! You can also find many of these designs on coffee mugs, blankets and more including canvas art.
And some other fun news! I’ll be at the Urban Farmgirl Show on September 12th. The show is set up so that everyone can safely shop and socially distance. I’ll be inside the barn with original art work, jewelry, vintage and handmade items, and my space will be spread out so that there’s room to move and keep a proper distance.
Hi Jennifer
I found a photo you posted of white mixed matte tiles in a bathroom. Would you know the specific color/name of the grout used on the hexagon square floor?
Thank you,
Gail P
Hi Gail,
We ended up using a color close to Dolphin Gray at Home Depot, but we did end up mixing it with a little white grout to lighten it a little bit.
Hi Jennifer,
I randomly found your post for “Why it is important to take before and after photos” 9/2009 and the post displayed a beautiful cherry executive desk makeover. I can’t find DIY makeover on your site. Can you share how you stained the desk? You mentioned that it was a desk makeover for a client but the article was about the importance of photos. Link:

Thank you,

HI Stacy,
I don’t have that makeover because it was a really old project. I first painted it with a cream latex paint and then did a brown paint wash over it. I have a blog post that is how to stain (glaze) with paint. That would help with the stain part.
