Trash to Treasure Hand-Painted Dresser Makeover

I wanted to share a project I did a few years a go for  a client. They had a roadside find they wanted some decorative painting on. It was quite the trash to treasure hand-painted dresser makeover.

This guy has seen better days for sure!!! He needed a few coats of paint and some make up.Luckily it was sturdy even though it looked pretty bad.I used the dark color underneath to add to the distressed look.

Wooden dresser with three drawers, featuring ornate, hand-painted floral and vine designs in pastel colors. This stunning dresser makeover sits against a plain wall on a hardwood floor.

I also painted a faux wood-grain top to give it the look of a stained finish. It was rough but it made for a great dresser makeover. it took me some time to add all of the painted details. She really wanted it to have that artsy feel; I loved doing all of the bits like the laurel leaf on the side and the scroll details on the front. I painted this with latex paint as a base layer and then added all of the detail in acrylic paint.

A small vintage-style dresser makeover with three hand-painted drawers, a dark wood top, and decorative items including a lamp, red shoes, and a vase of white flowers sits against a maroon wall.

Here it is in the final space. I like how it pops against the dark wall color. She really styled it in a pretty way with the green vase and the hydrangeas. I love how the color pops and looks so pretty against the wood flooring.

Her house was so pretty and she had great classic taste. This trash to treasure hand-painted dresser makeover fit right in and looks perfect in the space.
