Vintage Console Makeover with Grey Paint
Old furniture can take on an entirely new look with paint. I recently did a console makeover with grey paint for a client, and it completely changed the look.

This console/cabinet has some great bones and lines, it just needed a fresh look to go with all of the changes we’ve been making, including a custom table.
You may not know, that when I started blogging, my main business was painting furniture, art and murals. It seems like it was such a long time ago! My kids were so little, and blogging was so new, I used my blog more like an on-line portfolio at the time! Even though it’s not a main part of my creative business anymore, when I can help a client out, I will. I still love the transformative power of paint, and the feel of the brush gliding on a surface! (I used Americana Chalky Finish Paint in Yesteryear.) If you want have a piece of furniture you would like painted, you can see this post about the best way to paint furniture. I have a video below which shows you the transformation from before to after, or you can see a few of the steps below.
Paint is such a amazing tool to make an old table or cabinet brand new!
I used different shades of brown to create a wood-look top for the console. Is that something you would be interested in having a tutorial on? It’s easier than you think, just like this paint-poured faux marble table top.
If you love the look of this console, you can find a more modern version on Wayfair.

I am in the process of giving our kitchen hutch another makeover, and can’t wait to share that with you soon! Do you have any projects you’re working on in the new year?
