An Alaskan Cedar Merry Christmas!!!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have an amazing and fantastic holiday. I am going to take the next few days off to spend some time with my peeps at home. I’ll be back the end of the week with the finalist’s for next years house walk. I wanted to share my little Charlie Brown Christmas tree with you and wish you An Alaskan Cedar Merry Christmas!!!

It’s an Alaskan Cedar. Home Depot was closing it out at the end of the Fall for $30! I couldn’t resist, though a lot of my neighbors have asked me “What’s wrong with that tree? It’s supposed to look like that?” Yes it is! That’s what I loved about it. It wasn’t perfect. It had these great droopy branches that were a little twisty. I thought it was so pretty and I loved that it was not like every other pine tree around. For now it’s my imperfect little pine. Hanging out in the front yard, with it’s one little, red ornament. Just being itself, here as it is. It’ supposed to get to about 50 feet tall with a 20 foot spread. Can you imagine how awesome it is going to look in about 33 years? But it is starting off so small and ordinary,so unassuming…and a little bit different. Every year it gets a little bigger and a little better. Some day it will be too tall to put the red ornament on top.

But I love it’s droopy branches and small pine cones, and it smells wonderful when i bring it inside with cuttings. I love having it as a part of my winter cutting garden.

  6. I don’t know what a ‘Charlie Brown’ Christmas tree is! Is that because I’m English? 🙂 However, I love it! So cute and ‘folksy’ I love the one red ornament 🙂
