Eclectic modern vintage home with a bit of boho thrown in
Welcome to the Simply Summer Home Tour hosted by Nina Hendrick, Country Living Magazine and Birch Lane! I am excited to show you a few more peeks at my home and garden. And Welcome to everyone coming over from Lucy’s beautiful home at Craftberry Bush. Because I love a well-loved and well-collected home,I would call my style a eclectic modern vintage home with a bit of boho thrown in (for good measure.). I have an artist’s heart, so alsoI love being creative. My home and style has grown over time as I have added to it,and most of all, I love mixing in new decor with cherished family heirlooms, and thrift store finds.
I love to frequently change my decor and swap my room around. I love bringing the outside in. Right now,I have ferns on my faux mantel ,but I also recently had peonies.
I love how plants add life to a space, and I love how this wood planter from Birch Lane looks with my Fig plant.
This is one of my favorite rooms because of the sunlight it gets in the afternoon.
I feel that swapping out accents like pillows can change the entire look of a space!
This fun pillow cover is also from Birch Lane! You can see more pics of my living room with the Peonies in full bloom here.
In our dining space, I like to keep it fairly simple. The wall behind the table is actually built-in book cases where I have a studio space.
We rehabbed my kitchen in 2010, and it’s had several changes since then!
You can see more of my kitchen here,
and how I added art to my decor to enhance my space.
We have a cozy main bathroom, but I love it’s charm.
I recently gave it a refresh for spring. Towels and are are a great way I can also bring some eclectic modern vintage home.
We are currently working on our second bathroom, it’s an exciting project and you can see the progress on how we used flooring for our wood accent wall here.
I love being able to keep things neutral and make small adjustments like accessories to change an entire space, such as our bedroom.
You can see more of our bedroom here.
This time of year, my favorite room in our house is what I like to call our “outside room”, which is our entire yard! I actually feel most at home when I am outside and digging in the dirt.
I recently gave a summer garden/yard tour, but I can never how enough pictures of my favorite space!
I love this area between the small part of my yard, and the bigger part. It’s feels like a secret garden.
When I mix my favorite plants, I feel like the outside reflects my eclectic modern vintage home. This path has Hostas, Japanese Maples, and a lovely Oak leaf hydrangea. I love the idea of an English/cottage type garden with cohesive themes and just a little bit overgrown.
We love having a great place to relax in the shade and have added these loungers to the back of our lot.
Before, it was just empty space, but as a result, I sit out here and read a lot!
One of my favorite parts of my yard is this reclaimed brick path my husband put in with bricks found on our property.
I’ve planted an entire walk way of Lavender next it and next to to my veggie garden and all summer long, it blooms and smells amazing!
Even in the front, I love having a welcoming, rustic front walk. It makes me happy to see everything blooming when I come home, and by planting perennials, some annuals, while adding pots in planters, it has made all of the difference while having a layered look.
Thank you so much for visiting my home! I hope you enjoyed my little tour! Make sure you stop at the next amazing house Woodgrain Cottage!
Such a lovely and eclectic home… my goodness, I think your garden is my favorite “room” too. Thanks for sharing your lovely home on this summer tour.
I love the bottles with the greenery in them on your faux mantel. Your garden is such a lovely place. I love all the hosta lining the walkway.
Holy cow your garden is incredible!!! So beautiful all the summery touches…. I love the blue and white paint strokes on that french chair– very artsy and something I saw at AmericasMart in January!
Your house & garden are lovely! Can you show pictures of your studio space and the back of the dining room wall that you spoke of?
So pretty, Jen! Your home is so beautiful in a summer tour 😉
Hugs, Jamie
So incredibly lovely, Jennifer! I always love your eclectic style. The colors are inspiring! And those gorgeous hostas- I need your tips, mine look terrible and scraggly this year. Thank you so much for joining me on this tour!
