Pumpkins as Fall Decor
I love using pumpkins as fall decor in my home! It’s one of those really inexpensive things that gives a huge amount of impact. Welcome if you are coming over from the BSHT fall tour and Sarah M. Dorsey designs!Pumpkins as fall decor make such a great impact. I love using them as a first impression when walking up our front path. On Thursday I ‘ll share how I decorated my front “porch” for fall, but here’s a sneak peek. Here’s a hint, there are lots of pumpkins!
I love how our front landscaping blends in the fall, when all of the late summer blooms kind of mash up against the early fall flowers. I grow most of my own mums, and every year they get bigger and better. You can see how I do that here.
In our living room, I’ve added both live and fake mini-pumpkins to our decor. The nice thing about both of those is there’s minimal clean up! The fake ones go into a trash bag in the attic, and the real ones go into the compost. There’s other ways I add pumpkins into my decor.
And I add a pumpkin pillow from my shop into the decor as well. This is one of our most popular sellers, so I know I’m not alone!
In the kitchen, mini-pumpkins brighten up my kitchen window. Even though it’s a skinny window sill, I found away to make it just a bit wider so I can do little displays and grow pots of herbs on it.
Even in the corners of the cabinets, I like to tuck away some orange pumpkins, thought the pie pumpkin is going to get eaten later.
In our dining are this year, I went a little more on the simple side and added a few here and there. I found this cool warty pumpkin at the grocery store and I stacked it on a hay bale from Michaels.
I used a very cool blue pumpkin on the table with a plaid blanket for the tablecloth.I am excited to share our guest bath with you. It’s almost finished and the first time I could really decorate it.
I kept it simple, but I added a few pumpkins. I think I have a thing with pumpkins and windowsills.
I am still in love with this basin sink. We turned a vintage vanity into the base and it still makes me happy.
I showed this bathroom cabinet makeover about a month ago. It’s such an great storage piece. I love how pretty the hand towels look (They are from our shop!), with the fall decor. The mini-pumpkins are a fun way to tuck a bit of fall into the cabinet. I just have to remember to take them out!
The cool marble base bulb lamp adds a cool modern look.
In the past, I’ve added some pumpkins to our steps with some spooky sayings.
The kids had fun doing that project. You can add pumpkins to your own decor as well. If you like painting, I have a paint a pumpkin tutorial I know you will love! A lot of people have used this tutorial to host a paint and sip night. I know am always up for wine and fun!
