Make a Memo Board out of a Vintage Frame with Chicken Wire

You I wanted a really cute way to display sweet words in my girl’s room.  I loved the idea to make a memo board out of a vintage frame with chicken wire . It was much easier than I thought, thought he chicken wire can be a little prickly to work with, so gloves and eye protection are recommended!  Isn’t it so cute with the cut our words clipped on with  clothes pins !

I also clipped on some book page birds, and you could also add some paper book page butterflies, or just use it for photos. Always use caution when hanging it in a kiddo’s room.

To make a memo board out of a vintage frame with chicken wire insert I removed the old picture that was in the frame and painted the frame with white paint

I used the art somewhere else. I then took a length of chicken wire cut to size and stapled it into the back of the frame, turning the sharp edges under. This is where safety gloves are really important. It took about an hour total for me to paint the frame and then add the chicken wire inside.

After that I  hung my board and added my aged clothes pins on with my words from one of my favorite songs.

I love how the memo board looks in my girls room! It’s my second favorite memo board next to this one made from vintage sheet music.

I love how using and old vintage frames can do so much more than hold art. Lots of times I come across vintage or older picture frames and the art isn’t great, but the frames are amazing. This decorative tray project uses a new frame, but ended up looking so pretty and is the perfect table top accent!
